There were several people waiting for their name to be called for hard work and a

special style of writing. The award ceremony was a chance for students to show off their

talents in writing. I thought it was a wonderful idea to even acknowledge the students

with an award. The room was filled with anxious students and their family waiting for

their name to be called. It must have been a good feeling for the writer’s to have their

work heard by some of the staff of the school. The topics were a great fit also I think for

the each writer to contribute to each category. Some of the writer’s seem very nervous

when it was time to speak, but to others it came naturally. It was funny how some of

them did not want to read an excerpt from their writing piece. It could have been just too

good to share with the audience. Everyone seemed to enjoy the writing pieces that were

presented. These students worked very hard so I know if it didn’t anything to us; it meant

a great deal to them.

I have never been to a writing ceremony, so this was new to me. I thought it

would have been different with more people involved, but it was still a good turn out. I

could feel some of the writer’s nervousness as they took the stage; public speaking can be

very hard especially if you are a writer. The writer’s that did speak did an excellent job. I

was especially moved by one myself, under the fiction category she won third place. I

believe her name was Holly her story was called, “Point of No Return,” I thought that

was a very impressive title for a story. It really caught my attention as she started to read

I could feel so much emotion and pain of the story. It was good a piece

of writing. Everyone did an excellent job!
