I'm thankful for...

Thanksgiving is a time of the year that I'm so thankful that I get time off school and work. I get a chance to spend time with my family and friends. This is the first Thanksgiving that I'm volunteering at a church to feed the homeless I'm excited about helping another person in need. A lot of families have been through so much this year it feels good to give back to the community. I'm thankful I get the opportunity to do this for someone in need. This hoilday is about being thankful for everything in your life, and I'm thankful for so many things. I'll name a few things that I'm thankful for and that's my health, family, and friends.

The Atkins Method of Acting

I thought this article was very interesting. It really give detail about the actors/actresses in Hollywood and how they lose and gain weight for roles. This article makes me realize how these people make their living in the world. I guess if it were not for actors/actresses there would not be a Hollywood. Although what they do as far as losing and gaining weight for roles is very unhealthy for their bodies.
In America society it seems very popular with people to want to lose weight, but sometime after they lose the weight they gain it right back. Sometime its even double than what they lost. They see these Hollywood actors and think its alright to do what they do, but it really hurts them and its very unhealthy.

My Weekend

This past weekend I finished up some homework, and I went to my job for our first annual trunk and treat. Trunk and treat is where we decorated our cars, and put candy in it for the children at the daycare. It turned out really nice all the children had such a wonderful time. As the night fell we went inside, and served the children hot dogs, chips, and juice. The children also got a chance to dress up for the occassion. Then, when it was all over I went home to finish up some homework, and washed some clothes. Sunday is usually chruch day, but I did not attend because I had to finish up what I started on Saturday. That pretty much sums up my weekend.

Sporty Dining

I went to Starter’s Bar and Grill, which is located in Dearborn, MI on October 10, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. They served all types of food from burgers to steaks. They hadseveral specialties (house) such as lamb chops, pepper steak, and buffalo wings.

The décor of the restaurant was very much of a sporty look on the inside. They
had flat screen televisions at every angle. While the television is going it’s only on for entertainment. The soft music they played was very relaxing and soothing while deciding on what to order. We had an aisle seat, and there were two rows of those. They were surrounded by booths, which were decorated fairly plain. Although, I wouldn’t mind the booth because it was a cozy little area. Of course, they were all taken upon our arrival. The booths also had large light fixtures above them. It looked brighter than the aisle seat were placed in.

In addition, the bar was located in the front entrance. I thought that was a
great place for it. If you just wanted to come for a drink and relax you would go straight to the bar. You would also get a chance to watch some television. That would be the highlight of the drink.

Starter’s draws in a crowd because it’s located inside a mall. When people shop
they do get hungry, and Starter’s would be the place to fill up. They are also children friendly.

The restaurant is a family owned business that opened up in 1977. They attribute
their success to the overwhelming support of their loyal patrons and the community.
Starter’s opened up their second location in 2006 inside Fairlane Towne Center.

The plates and silverware were extremely clean, which meant they were very well maintained. The restrooms were even better; they had televisions. So if I thought I missed anything going in, “BAM,” it’s right there in front of me. It was very differentfrom most restaurants I have been to. It smelled like citrus, and I thought that was nice.

My boyfriend ordered the chicken alfredo, it was served with garlic bread, and
salad on the side. I found it to be a typical dish; it looked like I could have prepared it. The chicken alfredo was not bad at all. It had the right amount of seasoning incorporated into the dish. The chicken was chopped so neatly, and the noodles had fresh garlic on them. The taste was very good. I could not have prepared a dish like that at all. I on the other hand, ordered chicken strips and fries. It was a typical dish for me, and I love chicken. The fries were seasoned very nicely, but I always put extra salt on my fries anyway. The chicken was very crispy and tender. I shared my food, because I could not eat all of it.

The prices range from $1.99 for fries up to $29.99 for the most expensive
entrée; which is Alaskan king crab legs.

Reservations are not required. If you are out shopping at Fairlane mall, and
want a place to relax and have a drink. It is quick, and the prices are convenient. I give Starter’s three stars.

Did You Know??

I thought the information in the video was very brief, but it got your attention. The part about China being the number English speaking Country in America really blew me away. I would have never thought about anything like that before. It goes to show people that it doesn't matter where you are from anything is possible. Another interesting point I thought was amazing is that it took Facebook two years to reach 50 million people. That was really interesting. Finally, the part at the end of the presentation when it said, how many babies were born. That really caught my attention. When I think about it that's probably a true statement. Everything in the video was really informative, and I think as country,we will never be able to keep up with all that goes on because it moves so fast!

Different types of music

I enjoy different types of music. There is no specific kind of music that I enjoy. How I feel on that particular day or week that's what I listen to. Example if I feel stressed or worried...I listen to gospel music.

Writing Award Ceremony

There were several people waiting for their name to be called for hard work and a

special style of writing. The award ceremony was a chance for students to show off their

talents in writing. I thought it was a wonderful idea to even acknowledge the students

with an award. The room was filled with anxious students and their family waiting for

their name to be called. It must have been a good feeling for the writer’s to have their

work heard by some of the staff of the school. The topics were a great fit also I think for

the each writer to contribute to each category. Some of the writer’s seem very nervous

when it was time to speak, but to others it came naturally. It was funny how some of

them did not want to read an excerpt from their writing piece. It could have been just too

good to share with the audience. Everyone seemed to enjoy the writing pieces that were

presented. These students worked very hard so I know if it didn’t anything to us; it meant

a great deal to them.

I have never been to a writing ceremony, so this was new to me. I thought it

would have been different with more people involved, but it was still a good turn out. I

could feel some of the writer’s nervousness as they took the stage; public speaking can be

very hard especially if you are a writer. The writer’s that did speak did an excellent job. I

was especially moved by one myself, under the fiction category she won third place. I

believe her name was Holly her story was called, “Point of No Return,” I thought that

was a very impressive title for a story. It really caught my attention as she started to read

I could feel so much emotion and pain of the story. It was good a piece

of writing. Everyone did an excellent job!
